Roope Kaaronen is a columnist.

Roope completed his PhD from the University of Helsinki and has worked at IIASA. He is alumni of the University of Edinburgh and the University of Melbourne. Whilst his background is in the social sciences, his current interests are at the interface between philosophy, ecology and psychology. An advocate of open culture, open science and academic freedom, his research also revolves around questions related to how scientific inquiry and science policy relations should be organized at the face of upcoming social and ecological crises.
